Anness Publishing

Anness Publishing was founded in 1988 and they are now the largest independent book publisher in the UK. In their first 19 years they sold in excess of 120,000,000 books. Each year they produce around 300 new titles on subjects ranging from cooking and crafts to gardening, new age, reference, hobbies and transport plus a lively and successful list of pre-school activity and home study reference books for children.

The linking theme is that all the books are expertly and meticulously produced by one of the largest editorial teams in Britain, and every title in the programme is lavishly illustrated with high quality colour illustrations. For practical subjects the techniques, projects and recipes are always shown with step-by-step photography which they specially produce in-house. Their back catalogue consists of over 3,000 titles, and they have generated over 400,000 colour images for which they own copyright.

Cruising Guide Publications was created by Simon and Nancy Scott while living aboard their sailboat in the British Virgin Islands, and later, working in the bareboat charter industry for twenty years. There was a need for comprehensive guides to aid cruisers and charterers exploring the Caribbean island chain. These guides include not only navigational information, but also the rich history of the Caribbean islands, folklore, the flora and fauna, as well as where to go for diving, snorkeling and shore side entertainment and of course, what to do in an emergency. Cruising Guide Publications has made it their mission to answer all the questions they had from charterers and cruisers and to add details and background about the islands to enhance the cruising experience.
